Swat Valley Update

More than 2 million residents of SWAT were displaced to relief camps, when the Pakistan military engaged with the militants in the area, to route them out.

After 2 months of fighting, the Pakistan Government announced that it was safe for the refugees to return to their villages.

The lack of power and water in most areas adds to the problems for returnees, food supplies are scarce and prices are sky-high.

Standing Order Form

In coordination with the local government, MGR is managing to help refugees by supplying the returnees and their families with essential rations, so that they are able to start rebuilding their lives.

MGR needs your help to rebuild their homes, shops, schools and hospitals.

MGR’s first priority is to provide shelter for the returnees. Construct houses which were destroyed during the fighting to the following standards:

400 Sq ft covered area – comprising of:

• 2 * bedrooms of 10’ by 12’
• 1 * Kitchen of 8’ by 10’
• 1 * veranda of 8’ by 10’
